Unexpectedly, the biggest dark horse to emerge from the Autohome summer test sports meeting was the Jiyue 01.

In the ongoing Autohome Summer Test Competition, the Jiyue 01 won first place in the "Bare Electric SUV/MPV Range Achievement Rate" event with an 85.8% range achievement rate. Due to the restrictions of the competition rules, the Jiyue 01 was only allowed to start the weak energy recovery mode, with a nominal range of 720km, but an actual mileage of 618km.

Don’t think that Jiyue 01 is just lucky. In another “track lap test”, Jiyue 01 won the first place in the pure electric SUV group.

I looked through the list and found that the competitors of Jiyue 01 are also terribly strong. In the pure electric SUV endurance achievement test, the competitors include Xiaopeng G6, Xingjiyuan ET pure electric version, Audi Q4 e-tron, etc. In the lap time test, the competitors include Denza N7, Haobo HT, Xiaopeng G6, etc.

Why did the Jiyue 01 stand out and win two championships, especially in the new energy vehicle industry where there are so many strong competitors? !

The actual test is about hard power

Don’t underestimate this first place in range achievement rate. On the surface, it is the “achievement rate” that is being competed, but behind the scenes, it is the background of the “three-electric” system. To put it bluntly, the excellent “three-electric” system allows the vehicle to have a longer range and less frequent charging, reducing the inconvenience of using the vehicle.

The current pure electric SUV range achievement rate is generally around 75%, and even the median range achievement rate of the 7 excellent SUVs participating in the competition is around 78%. This means that the range achievement rate of the Jiyue 01 is about 10 percentage points higher than that of the average pure electric SUV on the market.

The "three electric" systems of Jiyue are all from Geely. It is not surprising that it can win the competition.

The Jiyue 01 participating in the competition is the Max long-range version. This single motor has a maximum power of 200kw and a maximum torque of 343N·m. The battery is a 100kWh ternary lithium battery from CATL.

This performance parameter has firmly occupied the first echelon among new energy vehicles. However, there are other reasons why Jiyue 01 wins in terms of range achievement rate.

For example, its single motor weighs only 91.5kg, which is "light, fast and powerful". The motors of the same level of vehicles with similar power and torque generally weigh more than 100kg. A competitor's model competing with Jiyue 01 has a motor power of 172kw and weighs 128kg. The weight is 36.5kg higher, which is actually a demonstration of lightweight strength.

For example, the wind resistance of the Jiyue 01 is only 0.249, while the wind resistance coefficient of the same-class cars on the market is generally between 0.26 and 0.28. In other words, as an SUV model, the wind resistance of the Jiyue 01 is lower than that of most cars.

If you think the motor parameters of Zeekr 01 look familiar, then you are not mistaken. Another model under Geely, Zeekr 001, also uses this motor, and both cars are based on Geely's SEA vast architecture.

What is different from Zeekr 001 is that there is a big boss behind Zeekr 001, which is Baidu. It injected Baidu Apollo intelligent driving system into Zeekr 01, and finally made Zeekr 01 with solid hardware and intelligent software.

Compared with its competitors, Jiyue 01 is like a "hidden king", low-key and pragmatic. Once it enters the competition field, it is inevitable to stand out from the crowd.

The reason behind the SUV group's first lap time

The most surprising thing is that the Jiyue 01 won the first place in the pure electric SUV group lap test with a time of 2 minutes 21.13 seconds.

The surprising thing is that when the competitors were racing on the track with dual-motor four-wheel drive models, the Jiyue 01 was actually racing with a single-motor rear-wheel drive model, which is its Max long-range version.

Looking at its competitors, the Ideal L6 Max version is a dual-motor four-wheel drive with a maximum power of 300kw and a maximum torque of 529N·m. The Ideal L7Max version has a maximum power of 330kw and a maximum torque of 620N·m. The Wenjie M9 Max version has a maximum power of 365kw and a maximum torque of 675N·m.

As a result, the single-motor rear-wheel drive car was faster than the dual-motor four-wheel drive car, which is really a bit like "the reverse of the Tiangang".

The biggest credit for the Geely SEA architecture has allowed the Geely 01 to take first place in the lap time test for pure electric SUVs.

A car reviewer disassembled the Jiyue 01 and Tesla Model Y for comparison. Both cars use front double wishbones and rear multi-link suspension, but the swing arms and yokes of the Jiyue 01 are much thicker than those of the Tesla Model Y, which is always known for its solid materials, and they are both made of all-aluminum alloy.

An outstanding design of the SEA architecture adopted by Jiyue 01 is the 50:50 golden axle load ratio. In simple terms, the weight of the car body distributed on the front and rear axles is the same, which brings the benefits of good handling and stable cornering.

The sturdy "limbs" make the Jiyue 01 more sporty and stable, and the "golden axle load ratio" further enhances its cornering controllability. Coupled with the extremely low wind resistance, the Jiyue 01 finally has excellent comprehensive qualities and won the first place in the pure electric SUV track lap test.

Not only does it have strong mechanical qualities, but with the support of Baidu's Apollo intelligent driving system, Jiyue 01 won first place in the Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou stations of the "Second Intelligent Driving Competition" held in April this year.

It is better to do real things for users than to engage in gimmicky marketing. "Two minutes on the field, three years of hard work off the field" The outstanding performance is inseparable from the efforts and investment of a car company in the research and development process.

Good cars should not be buried. Whether in terms of performance, intelligent driving or overall quality, the Jiyue 01 is a top player. Those car companies that have been engaged in marketing with empty talk for years should also learn this pragmatic car-making concept and not let bad money drive out good money in the automotive industry.

For consumers, Jiyue 01 is also an excellent choice. It has solid hardware and leading software and intelligent driving. This is the benchmark of a good car.
